History of Pearcedale The area was initially called Langwarrin or Old Langwarrin. In the late 1880s, the Mornington and Stony Point railway lines opened. The railway station named Langwarrin is currently a Flora and Fauna Reserve. New Langawarrin was the new town developed east of the railway station. Though the suburb had a slow beginning, the development took speed with establishing a post office, primary school, and public hall.
