Living in Queens Park With residential zones on the eastern, northern and southern sides of a large, historic public park, Queens Park has abundant green space. It has emerged as a highly-coveted neighbourhood and showcases attractive architecture. History of Queens Park The suburb's residential spread surrounds Queen's Park, an urban park as old as the early English settlements in Australia. It was initially a part of the Lachlan Swamps Water Reserve. However, in 1888, the park was developed and inaugurated along with Centennial Park. Since 1938, Queen's Park has been home to several playing fields. The Moriah College and many schools nearby also use the park area, which has a cycle track.

Queens Park was developed on three sides of the public park. Until 1992, the suburb was part of Bondi Junction. The eastern Queens Park has many Victorian-era mansions while Federation-style houses dominate the northern and southern flanks. Australia's first field ambulance services were started from Queens Park.
