Overview Ripley is a beautiful suburb located in the City of Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. It is bounded with Bundamba Creek to its east, and the Centenary Highway passes through its southeast corner. The suburb lies within the Ripley Valley. It had a population of 1,405 people, as recorded in the 2016 Australian census.
Living in Ripley Ripley presents something for everyone, and the master-planned community has attracted substantial residential development. The area is part of the Brisbane metropolitan western growth corridor project and, therefore, is experiencing fast growth. Ecco Ripley is a development project focused on growth from interstate and overseas migration. It is estimated that the Ripley district will have around 50,000 residential dwellings once the area is fully developed. Also, it will create a lot of job opportunities. The development is considered to be the country’s largest planned community.
History of Ripley Ripley has a rich history and is situated in the Yagarabul traditional Aboriginal country. In the mid-1800s, the settlement in the area began with some farming communities. Most of the land was occupied by farmers who used to grow various crops. However, the master-planned development was announced in 2007, after which the suburb started to grow. As Ripley is located within the Ripley Valley, it took its name from the same valley.
