Overview Stafford is a Brisbane suburb in Queensland, Australia, with 43,984 people, according to the 2016 census. Stafford is mainly a residential community with some old Queenslander-style houses.
It has a significant percentage of post-war Queensland Community Housing residences erected on quarter-acre sites in the 1940s and 1950s. Moreover, Stafford is located on the banks of Kedron Stream, west of Lutwyche Street. Most of Stafford's citizens are old, as befits a city of its age, although newer households are moving in.

History of Stafford Stafford was first known as Happy Valley. The word probably comes from Sir Thomas Brisbane, who served in the Staffordshire Regiment and is represented by a Stafford Knot on the town's coat-of-arms. In 1885 and 1886, a local campaign to rename the region after the English county of Staffordshire resulted in its current term. Moreover, Stafford Community College first opened its doors on May 25, 1886. Meanwhile, the Stafford Toddlers State School started on January 24, 1955, relocating the smaller pupils from the original school. However, the infant's school terminated on December 9, 1977, and the younger students rejoined the primary school.
