Overview The city of Subiaco in Western Australia lies about 3 km west of the Perth CBD. Its area is not so big; it's around seven km². CentredonRokeby Road includes the historically working-class suburb of Subiaco. Since the 1990s, the site has been extensively gentrified and redeveloped.

History of Subiaco Long before the first European settlers came here, Subiaco was the homeland of the Nyungar people. In 1851, Benedictine monks settled in the area. The monks planted fruit orchards and olive trees. The city continues to grow olive trees to acknowledge their historical significance, as the land was cheaper compared with Perth, more European settlers followed. In 1897, Subiacobecame a part of the municipality and people started inventing here. And after 55 years, in 1952, it got the stature of the City of Subiaco.
