History of Subiaco Long before the first European settlers came here, Subiaco was the homeland of the Nyungar people. In 1851, Benedictine monks settled in the area. In 1897, Subiacobecame a part of the municipality and people started inventing here. And after 55 years, in 1952, it got the stature of the City of Subiaco.
