History of Tallai It was founded by Europeans about 1860 and was formerly a village of woodcutters and cattle herbivores. Moreover, Tallai has several heritage buildings and ancient elegance. Early in 1856, William Duckett White, squatters from Beaudesert, acquired from the NSW Government 25 sq miles of cattle range known as "Murry Jerry," which encompassed the settlement we now know as Mudgeeraba. During the 1890s, a Presbyterian Church (which is now the Uniting Church) near the building during the week, and then, it served as the Mudgeeraba Temporary Schools.
