Overview Westlake is a south-western suburb in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It shares the boundary with Riverhills, Mount Ommaney, and Middle Park. Westlake had a population of 4,368, as recorded in the 2016 census.

History of Westlake Westlake was developed as part of the Hooker Centenary Project, which started in 1959. This is why it was also known as the Centenary Suburbs. However, it was officially named by the Queensland Place Names Board and took its name from the lake constructed by the development project. The western part of the original landholdings was part of the Wolston Estate. It consisted of 54 farms on an area of 3000 acres and was offered for auction in 1901. The local government area of Yeerongpilly Division was created in 1879.
