History of Yatala In 1877, St Joseph’s School was established. However, it was shut down two years later. Subsequently, a new brewery was constructed in the area. The Power’s Brewery (now CUB Brewery) became one of the biggest names in Australia’s beer market. The year 2006 marked the rapid growth of the suburb’s economy, encompassing more than 300 establishments around its territory. Aside from the winery and commercial businesses, manufacturing industries also took part in the area's development.
