History of Burua Clyde Creek Provisional School first opened its doors on October 16, 1882. On January 1, 1909, it was renamed Clyde Creek State School. Burua State School was then renamed in 1911, but it was later on demolished in 1925. Cockeye Scrub Provisional School started on February 16, 1925, and was later renamed Burua West Provisional School on March 6, 1925, and Theresa Provisional School on September 8, 1927. It was renamed Theresa State School on April 1, 1931. However, it was permanently closed on December 31, 1940.
