Jimboomba is surrounded by the localities of South Maclean, Stockleigh, Logan Village, Riverbend, Glenlogan, Tamborine, Cedar Grove, Cedar Vale, and Mundoolun.

It is being planned for development by the Queensland government to become a mixed-use suburb with residential and business areas. History of Jimboomba The name of this town is taken from the sheep and livestock station that belonged in this township. The name itself is of Gugingin origin that literally translates to “place of thunder and little rain”. Historically, this area was used for cattle grazing, hobby farms, and dairy farming.
