History of Rockville The Rockville suburb of Toowoomba grew from being an agricultural and industrial area to become a residential suburb. Rockville got its name from the Rockville House in the Rockville Estate. The Estate consists of 114 allotments with areas ranging from 2,000 square metres to 20,000 square metres. Rockville officially became a suburb of Toowoomba in 1981.
