This is a densely populated suburb bordered by a few other suburbs like Eight Mile Plains, Rochedale, Rochedale South, Kuraby, Woodridge, Springwood, and Slacks Creek.

History of Underwood The suburb was named after William Underwood, who was a postmaster that owned property on Rochedale Road. His son farmed the area in the 1930s. The suburb was officially established in 1975. This area was traditionally inhabited by the Aboriginal people.
