Overview Wentworthville, popularly called Wenty, is a NSW suburb 27 km west of Sydney CBD. It comes under the Greater Western Sydney region and is divided between Parramatta and Cumberland local governments for administrative convenience. Wentworthville lies to the west of Westmead, and the 2016 census listed the population at 11,318.

History of Wentworthville Wentworthville is named after the family of renowned Australian politician, explorer and lawyer William Wentworth. It began when William's father, D'Arcy Wentworth, came to own 2,000 acres in the area and started a farm in 1810. The mid-1800s saw the influx of many to Wentworthville following a land boom. It saw the first railway in 1864 and a public railway station in 1883. In 2007, Wentworthville was bifurcated to create Constitution Hill, another suburb comprising its northernmost territories.
