Overview Yeronga is a suburb within Brisbane City. It is 7 km from the capital, located south of the central business district and west of Brisbane River. The adjacent areas include Fairfield, Tarragindi, Moorooka, and Yeerongpilly. Fairfield passes through the eastern portion, connecting to its neighbouring communities. And in 2016, it had a recorded population of 6,536 people.

History of Yeronga Yeronga is said to stem from two Aboriginal words―yarung and ba. These words mean “sandy” and “place”. Some also believed that it originated from Yerong-lea, the notable residence of Charles Hardie Buzacott. He was a famous personality during the 18th to 19th centuries.
