Overview Annerley is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is located 6.2 kilometres south of the Brisbane GPO by road. According to the 2016 population census, the suburb had 11,336 people. Much of the suburb lies on a ridge and gives an amazing view of the city.

History of Annerley Annerley was initially used for dairy farms. St Kilda Estate was one of the first residential subdivisions, and it was bounded by Boggo Road to the west, Cornwell Street to the north, and Ipswich Road to the South. During 1880, a postal receiving opened at Boggo, and in 1882, it became Boggo Post Office. In 1957, the Annerley public library was established at Ipswich Road, and it was designed by popular architect James Birrell. The library is also listed on the Brisbane Heritage Register.
