History in Greenslopes
The suburb Greenslopes was named after an early estate in the area. Frederick Wecker, the owner of the estate, purchased the land in 1857 and named it after the area's greenery. Some parts of the suburb were opened for settlement under names such as the Mount Pleasant Estates, Thompson, and Dunellan.
