Overview Bordered by Stones Corner, Norman Park, East Brisbane, Holland Park, Camp Hill, and Greenslopes, Coorparoo is southeast of Brisbane. It has a population of well over 16000. Before 1875 it was known as Four Mile Camp.

History of Coorparoo The Coorparoo clan originally populated the area here. Much developmental activity took place in the 1850s, and the Coorparoo State School was inaugurated in 1876. In 1886 the Stanley Bridge was constructed. The Stanley Bridge Estate and the tramway made Coorparoo an attractive choice to live in. With the extension of the tramway in 1902, Coorparoo saw a significant influx of population and residences here.
Over the years, many developments made Coorparoo a more attractive place to live in. In 2011 even Brisbane School of Distance Education relocated here from Wet End.
