History of Mount Duneed Like most of the suburbs in Victoria, Mount Duneed was initially inhabited by the Aboriginal peoples before the European occupation in the 1800s. Most of the land in Mount Duneed covered Armstrong's homestead until the land was subdivided between the 1840s to 1850s. On February 15, 1860, the Post Office was built on the ground and was called Connewarre. Its name changed again to Puebla until it was finally recognised as Mount Duneed on April 1, 1864.
