Overview Cromer, located 20 kilometres northeast of the Sydney CBD, is a suburb in northern Sydney, New South Wales. It is in the LGA of Northern Beaches Council. Ingleside, Collaroy Plateau, Wheeler Heights, Oxford Falls, Dee Why, and Narraweena are near the suburb of Cromer. Narrabeen Lakes lies on the northern border of this suburb.

History of Cromer Cromer got its name from Cromer Norfolk, England. The area of Cromer used to be part of Dee Why West. This changed when Cromer Country Club gained control of the Dee Why Gold Links in 1940. The club was responsible for applying for the change of name and the creation of a new suburb.

Cromer was a semi-rural area until the 1960s, with small farms growing vegetables and fruits. There were also pig and poultry farms.
