Overview Ingleside is a suburb of Northern Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is located 28 km north of the Sydney Central business district and about 2 km away from the Mona Vale. It is part of the Forest District region and surrounded by two popular localities, Ingleside Heights and Tumbledown Dick. According to the 2016 population census, 974 people lived in the suburb.
Living in Ingleside Ingleside is a small suburb but is one of the most famous suburbs of South Wales, Australia. Semi-rural properties and bushland mainly occupy this suburb. It has many famous landmarks, including the Sydney Baha’i Temple, the Smoky Dawson Ranch, and Doggie Rescue. The temple is the world’s fourth Baha’i House of Worship, while the ranch was the home of one of the most popular country music singers in Australia. Doggie Rescue is an animal rescue shelter founded by Monika Biernacki. Ingleside is a rural area and, therefore, has only essential shops and stores. However, the city and nearby suburbs are not too far.
History of Ingleside Ingleside derived its name from a mansion called Ingleside House, which was built in the year 1880. The house was built by an industrial chemist Baron Von Beirenm who specialized in gunpowder and explosives. He was also the founder of a factory named Australian Gunpowder and Explosives Manufacturing Company. The famous road Powder Works Road derived its name from Baron’s factory.
